	The Denton Community Food Center supplies food from one central community storhouse, free of charge on a temporary basis, to people who are in emergency situations. The Denton Community Food Center is an independent, non-profit service agency that is enabled to accomplish its mission entirely through the donations of individuals and organizations throughout the community. These contributions are either in the form of nutritional supply. Denton Community Food Center has been in operation without interruption since October 14, 1974. From serving less than 300 families in its first year of operation, Denton Community Food Center now serves more than 5,700 families annually
